They never used the same synthesizer… Alice and Ethan recorded the song courtship dating on some studio and the recording manager kept a sample of their new songs, then a week later timbaland used the same studio and heard their track courtship dating and straight out sampled them.

Hold on, I did some research (which was probably also done by someone else earlier, in the comments, but meh). “Courtship Dating” did come first, but only in concert. The album version actually came out after Ayo. Apparently, the two songs have no connection other than using the same synthesizer or possibly just the same sample CD.
So yeah, I like them both now.
Random fact: the first name for “Ayo Technology” was supposedly “Ayo Pornography”, though I’m a bit suspicious (Wikipedia vandals?).

I like this song, …
I like this song, but I disagree with many that it is alright to sample like they did (or copy if they didn’t sample); it made me like the song slightly less (I still like it alot, however). But it is way better than AYO, although I must admit, AYO is one of the few popular songs that I like (although I guess this song counts as popular, too).
Speaking of popularity, if you want to listen to some really underground music, look up the album “Musique pour 3 Femmes Enceintes” by Marc Leclair.
